Bio: Maroon 5 is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California that was previously known as Kara’s Flowers. The band originally consisted of Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Micky Madden & Ryan Dusick. After having no success for years as Kara’s Flowers the band resurfaced in 2001 as Maroon 5. They proceeded to release the album Songs About Jane which featured four smash hits including “Harder to Breathe”, “This Love”, “She Will Be Loved” & “Sunday Morning.” They have gone gold, platinum or triple platinum in multiple countries.
Due to their new found success the band toured extensively from 2003-2005. The touring paid a toll on Dusick’s health; he re-aggravated an old injury, resulting in him leaving the band in 2006 & being replaced by Matt Flynn. The band’s 2007 album It Won’t Be Soon Before Long didn’t reach the heights that their debut album did, but they continued to tour to gain more of a following. During these tours Maroon 5 would release live albums of their sets.
Since their debut as Maroon 5 the band has sold over fifteen million records worldwide. Maroon 5 will be releasing a new album shortly featuring their new smash hit “Misery” which plays on the radio hourly. Maroon 5 continues to tour as much as they can in an attempt to gain even more exposure. The band is hoping their upcoming album will be as great a success as their debut album.
