Bio: Heart is a famous rock band featuring founding members Ann & Nancy Wilson from Seattle, Washington. While the group has had numerous lineup changes the Wilson sisters have remained a constant to the band. Heart shot to fame during the 70’s with a combination of hard rock & folk music. After sputtering in the late 70’s into the mid 80’s Heart had a major comeback producing many power ballads that gained them more notoriety but in the 90’s they went back to their original roots, rather than their different sound of the late 80’s. Heart continues to tour to this date after selling over 35 million albums worldwide over their tenure. They will release their next album entitled Red Velvet Car at the end of August 2010. Heart was ranked #57 in VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. Heart has been in the music scene for four decades. Their musical outreach in the business is primarily stationed in Seattle. Those influenced from the area & have recorded in their studio include REM, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains & Soundgarden. There has been speculation over the years that Ann & Nancy were lesbian lovers rather than sisters. The song “Barracuda” was a direct result of the anger the sisters felt from this.
