Bio: Chris Daughtry's metoric rise to stardom began with his appearance on American Idol. Unlike any of the previous contestants, Chris' roots were not in pop, or R&B, or country-his roots were purely hard rock. Interestingly enough, this set Chris apart from many of the other competitors and gave him a unique quality right from the start. His talent and originality, combined with his rock and roll background, made Chris Daughtry a crowd favorite and almost lead to an American Idol victory, but it was not to be as Chris was defeated by eventual winner Taylor Hicks. Even though Chris didn't win Idol, he formed his own band, Daughtry not long after the show and his first single, "It's Not Over" rocketed up the charts, was played on just about every radio station in the country and became a No. 1 hit song. The popularity of this single and the band have Daughtry on a late Spring 2007 concert tour and the sky's the limit for this talented singer and his impressive band.
