Bio: Cheap Trick is an American rock band based out of Illinois that formed in 1974 featuring Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson & Bun E. Carlos.
Cheap Trick is considered to be a mix of The Beatles & punk rock. They created most of their fan base through this brand of power pop rock music.
Some of Trick’s top hits include “Surrender”, “I Want You to Want Me”, “Dream Police” & “The Flame.” Cheap Trick has also contributed theme songs to That 70’s Show & The Colbert Report.
Cheap Trick continues to tour to this day, including a current tour in Las Vegas. In their home state of Illinois the state senate has declared April 1st to be “Cheap Trick Day” throughout the state.
Cheap Trick’s legendary career has spanned over four decades. But their best years were from 1975 to 1978 where they produced such hits as “I Want You to Want Me” & “So Good to See You.” For as popular as Cheap Trick is in the states they are just as, if not more, popular in Japan due to touring there throughout their careers. Their songs are also featured in the popular Rock Band & Guitar Hero games.
