Bio: A Fire Inside is an alternative rock band from California, founded in 1991. They have featured the same lineup of Davey Havok, Adam Carson, Hunter Burgan & Jade Puget since 1998. The band has released eight albums in their tenure thus far.
AFI, as they are often referred, released their first album in 1995. It wasn’t until the band’s fifth album (The Art of Drowning) that they actually made the Billboard charts. The band had even more success with their next album with singles such as “Girl’s Not Grey”& “The Leaving Song Part 2” which both hit the Top 20 list. The album Sing the Sorrow went platinum shortly thereafter.
In 2006 the band had another hit single with “Miss Murder” as well as receiving notoriety for their single “Love Like Winter” from the same album. AFI’s most recent album came out in late September 2009 reaching the Billboard charts once again.
While AFI had some success from 1991 to 2002, they didn’t achieve mainstream success until 2003. Some of their more recent songs have become available on the widely popular Guitar Hero & Rock Band games. Since switching to DreamWorks Records in 2003 the band has done varying things to garner more attention. The band has used internet mediums Youtube to promote contests & Myspace, posting samples of upcoming songs. Now with a larger following the band continues to tour with bigger bands any chance they get.
A Fire Inside is currently touring with Green Day.
