Bio: Selena Gomez is an actor turned singer/songwriter. Gomez first appeared in the children’s show Barney & Friends. Currently she appears on the television show Wizards of Waverly Place. Gomez has contributed songs to the soundtracks of Tinker Bell, Another Cinderella Story & Wizards of Waverly Place. Recently she made her big screen debut appearing in the film Ramona & Beezus as one of the main characters.
Gomez sings as part of the band Selena Gomez & the Scene who have produced such hits as “Naturally” & “Round & Round.” Naturally went platinum earlier this year.
Gomez indicates she wanted to act at an early age due to seeing her mother perform in theater productions. Gomez has gained notoriety mainly through appearing on shows on the Disney Channel including The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Sonny With a Chance & Hannah Montana but is the main character in the aforementioned Wizards of Waverly Place. She’s also appeared in made for TV movies including Another Cinderella Story & Princess Protection Program.
Gomez is also set to star in an upcoming movie entitled Monte Carlo. In 2008 Gomez recorded a cover of the Disney hit song “Cruella de Vil” for the album DisneyMania 6. While most of Gomez success has come contributing to soundtracks she & the Scene have a new album entitled A Year Without Rain coming out in September 2010 featuring the hit single “Round & Round.”
While Gomez is the most famous member of her band it also includes Ethan Roberts (guitar), Joey Clement (bass), Greg Garman (drums) & Dane Forrest (keyboards). They expect great success coming off their debut album Kiss & Tell going platinum earlier this year.
