Bio: Michael Buble is a Canadian singer & actor, who didn’t always want to be a singer. Like most Canadians he grew up with aspirations of being a hockey player. Once he realized he wasn’t good enough to be a professional hockey player he focused on music. Some would argue Buble made the right choice after winning two Grammy Awards & having multiple hits off his albums “It’s Time” & “Call Me Irresponsible.”
Buble has sold over twenty five million records worldwide. Buble started singing at age 16 in nightclubs run by his grandfather. His grandfather also helped pay for his singing lessons from opera baritone Joseph Shore. Buble claims he never learned to read or write music but merely used emotion to drive his songwriting.
As an 18 year old Buble won a local singing contest & won, but was later disqualified for being underaged. Buble continued to do any gig he could because he loved singing so much.
In 1996 Buble also appeared on television shows including “Death Game” & “The X-Files.” He also performed on “Big Band Boom!” in 1997. from 1996 to 2002 struggled along in the music business before making it big in 2003. In 2003 Buble released a self titled album featuring past hits as “Fever” & “For Once in My Life” that garnered national acclaim. The song “Sway” off the album netted Buble’s highest success in the US.
Buble had great success winning “New Artist of the Year” at the 2004 Juno Awards but his second album made him an even bigger star. Featuring smash hits “Feeling Good” & “Save the Last Dance for Me” the album was #1 in four different countries.
In 2005 Buble’s hit “Come Fly With Me” was used during Starbucks commercials & Starbucks released their own edition of Buble’s album.
Seeing Buble in concert is quite the treat as he has been known to wander amongst the crowds through parts of it to interact with his fans.
