Bio: Gwen Stefani had her first major breakthrough in the music business as the lead singer of the band No Doubt, which was founded by Gwen's older brother Eric Stefani and made its name in 1995 with the hit album Tragic Kingdom. The album was a heady mixture of rock, speedy reggae and playful pop hooks that made a star of Stefani, who combined a belter's voice with brash blonde good looks and a dependably bare midriff. No Doubt's later albums included Return Of Saturn (2000) and Rock Steady (2001). In 2004 Stefani ebarked on a solo career with the release of her first solo album, Love, Angel, Music, Baby, which was nominated for a Grammy award as Album of the Year and included the hit single "Hollaback Girl" (which was also nominated for a Grammy as Record of the Year). Stefani also began began an acting career in 2004, playing actress Jean Harlow opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the Oscar-nominated film The Aviator. Stefani later released a second solo album, The Sweet Escape, in 2006. When asked if she would ever again perform with No Doubt, Stefani told Billboard.com that the group might perform together again someday and was quoted as saying, "I see it on the horizon, but I'm not focusing on it." Obviously, intending to focus on her blossoming solo career, instead. Stefani is married to Gavin Rossdale, lead guitarist for the band Bush and they have a boy named Kingston James McGregor Rossdale. Early in her career, Stefani was known for wearing stick-on pottu dots, the jewel-like Hindi forehead decoration. According to People magazine, Stefani began wearing the dots "when she dated fellow band member Tony Kanal, whose parents are Indian."... Stefani launched her own clothing line, L.A.M.B., in 2003, which is also an acronym for the words Love, Angel, Music, Baby, the title of Stefani's original solo album.
