Bio: Sara Evans is a country singer/songwriter who has grown to fame in the last decade, including a brief appearance on Dancing With the Stars before her divorce made her leave the program. Evans has had four number one hits & on the country billboard charts. Evans album Restless was certified gold, her 2005 album Real Fine Place was certified platinum. All of this after her 2000 album Born to Fly was certified double platinum.
The Born to Fly album featured numerous hit songs, including “born to Fly” & “I Could Not Ask for More.” The other singles off the album continued to reach the charts two years after the album was released. As a result in 2001 Evans was nominated for seven Country Music Association awards. The “Born to Fly” song won the award for Video of the Year.
In 2003 Evans put out a new album featuring the smash hit “Perfect” which reached #2 on the billboard charts. Other songs from the album like “Back Seat of a Greyhound Bus” & “Suds in the Bucket” also charted. As a result of the success of the album it received a nomination in 2005 for an ACM award.
In 2005 sometime after her divorce had been leaked to news outlets Evans came out with Real Fine Place. The media attention Evans was getting due to her divorce led to the album being a great success. Evans used her anger to belt out smash hits such as “Cheatin.” Evans also released a compilation album through Cracker Barrel stores. Coming off the success of Real Fine Place Evans garnered acclaim & awards galore in 2006 including an ACM award for Top Female Vocalist.
Evans also finds herself fighting for causes she believes in. She is the spokesperson for National Eating Disorders Association & in 2008 was an active participant in Ron Paul’s run for president.
