Bio: Bentley is an American bluegrass musician. He is currently married to Cassidy Black, which he resides with in Nashville, Tennessee with his two dogs & young daughter. While Bentley attended the University of Vermont & Vanderbilt University he didn’t graduate college. He was in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity while at Vermont though.
Bentley once worked at TNN (now Spike TV) where he would research old footage of country performances. In 2003 he released a self titled debut album. Three songs from the album hit the billboard charts – What Was I Thinkin, My Last Name & How Am I Doin – which resulted in the album going platinum.
In 2005 Bentley released his second album, which also went platinum. It featured three hit songs as well – Settle for a Slowdown, Come a Little Closer & Lot of Leavin Left to Do. Later that year he won the CMA award for Best New Artist & was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry, becoming the third youngest member to join.
Bentley has also produced a live concert DVD & a greatest hits album. In 2006 he produced another album, this one producing four hits Every Mile a Memory, Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go), Long Trip Alone & Trying to Stop Your Leaving. In early 2009 Bentley released his fifth album which featured hits Sideways & I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes.
Bentley continues to dominate the music scene & recently released his sixth studio album which already features a hit in Up on the Ridge. He is currently on tour & occasionally has other bluegrass bands perform along with him.
